Your membership dues make a vital impact on the
daily operations of the Museum. Tours, programs,
volunteer training, educational outreach, and
special events could not happen without your
continued generosity. Please ensure The Williamson
Museum’s longevity by renewing your current
membership or joining today.
Contributions enable us to:
Expand our educational programs, such as Summer History Camp,
Hands-On History,
and our classroom traveling trunks;
Provide quality care and preservation of historic artifacts; and
Build upon past successes continuing our free
annual events, such as Up the Chisholm Trail,
Pioneer Day and Archeology Day.
Your continued
support of The Williamson Museum is an act of
involvement—something you can do to keep history
alive in Williamson County. We look forward to
seeing you at the Museum and events where you can
see firsthand what your dollars do!

Did you know that your current or
former employer might offer a matching gift program?
Many companies, including
Exxon, SBC Communications,
General MillsandGeneral Electric,
will match the contributions of their employees to
non-profit organizations. This is a great
opportunity for you to make the most of your
donation! The process is simple and requires the
museum to complete a form of eligibility.
Thanks to a deadline extension to the
recently enacted Emergency Economic Stabilization
Act of 2008, if you are 70-and-a-half years or
older, you have until the end of 2009 to use your
IRA funds to make charitable gifts without the
amount of the gift counting as a taxable
distribution. To qualify, you must be 70-and-a-half
or older and transfer your funds directly from your
IRA accounts to the Museum. Qualifying gifts are
limited to $100,000 per year, and gifts do not
generate a federal income-tax deduction. For more
information, contact your financial advisor.
